He was asked to please remove it, he chose not to so he was banned.

it wasn't us mods that brought it to our attention and asked that he remove it, it was members of this board.

...and he was absolutely wrong to be using that avatar, and you were absolutely right to ban him when he failed to change it.

And, for the record, I will happily admit to being one of the members who has repeatedly requested other boarders to watch their picture posting habits, and that I have repeatedly spoken with several of you mods about it.

Not in this particular case, but that hardly matters.

I know DA was upset by my porn bears avatar, which I promptly changed ( I think it was because the bear had a bigger weewee than DA [img]wink.gif[/img] )
I do forget occassionally that many of ya post from work. probably because I don't post from work.

Let me say one thing about the pics deal, on a serious note: I am in a position wherein my whole office could be cut off for any infractions. So not only would DA be bye-bye from the board, but would have a lot of explaining to do. And if one of you cost me my job, you can bet I'd use that last paycheck for a busticket to yer hometown... i didn't care for his avatar at all but i didn't say anything... i guess cause i was just ignoring it. and i don't get offended very easily. he was wrong for not changing it i agree.

Not much offends me... unless it is a direct personal attack.

I never saw the avatar (or at least don't even recall it) but either way, here at the office my fingers are always near the "close window" buttons so I never worry about that stuff.

And not to be a big poop... but the intitial reaction to this post seemed a tad "white-boardish".

[img]graemlins/grrr.gif[/img] <hr /></blockquote>Same is here - I have an office where I can shut the door, but I maintain a strict open door policy which means that anyone is allowed to knock and come in at a minites notice (which sucks when I want to take a nap!). Some of the people in the rest of my department are very touchy to some things (like pictures they might see), and I always have a major explaination if I trigger the SurfWatch. It has gotten easier now that I have gotten to know the guys, but it still is something I don't want to do if it can be helped.

And for the record - I would and have been telling anyone what happened had they PM'd, e-mailed or IMd me. I am not going to go a route around here of doing anything behind the back of the community. I may be the top mod on the list of the HOSTBOARD for this place, but I serve the community as a whole. Things that only bother me I don't act on unless it goes against the community or people complain. Anyone that has PM'd me asking what has happened I have answered as soon as I could. I am not trying to do things in secret, but I believe it is just as wrong to make a post saying that I have chosen to ban someone as well.
